Results of the research show that having a diet that mainly consists of plant-based food helps in bring back the blood sugar to healthier levels. The report says that plant-based diets that are rich in healthy items may help in preventing type 2 diabetes.

These studies revealed that having a plant-based diet that is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants offered protection against developing type 2 diabetes. However, these studies do not advise against having animal foods that are healthy. This means you may also include lean proteins like pork and chicken in moderation in your whole food plant-based diets.
